Research
Our laboratory aims to understand fundamental phenomena and mechanisms
during welding, joining and bonding on the basis of metallurgy and materials
science.
Studying the principles of controlling and designing interfaces of joined materials leads to improving their properties and resolving industrial problems related to innovation, costs, quality, reliability and longevity, and to societal and environmental concerns. Our present research programs involves various joining technologies, especially friction stir welding, ultrasonic welding, and grain boundary engineering.
Unfortunately, we do not have any research activities on thin films at
present.
