Ultrasonic Mechanical Coating and Armouring (UMCA) equipment
US27, Viatech Ltd.. Mechanical coating of metal substrates using accelerated balls by high speed ultrasonic vibration is carried out. The ultrasonic frequency is around 20kHz and the maximum electric power is 4kW. By using this equipment, the coating of LaPO4 powder on a SUS substrate to give tolerance of high-temperature oxidation and the coatings of TiN powders on metal substrates for wear resistance have been succeeded.

Vertical vibration coating machine
TS-MS-100, Techno Science, Ltd.. Surface treatment and powder coating of metal substrates can be carried out. In this machine, accelerated balls by mechanically vertical vibrations collide with a substrate repeatedly and mechanochemical reactions around substrate surface occur. The maximum frequency and amplitude are 90Hz and 100mm, respectively.

Gas chromatograph - mass spectrometer
Saturn 2200, Varian, Inc..By using this ion-trap type GC-MS, qualitative and quantitative analyses of infinitesimal amount (in ppb order) of organic compounds in organic solvents can be carried out. It is also possible to quantify organic compounds in ppt order using the MS-MS mode, in which selected fragment ions are broken and mass spectrometry is conducted again. The GC-MS has been used for the analyses of target and intermediate compounds after ultrasonic degradation.

Gas chromatograph
GC4000, GL Sciences Inc..The hydrogen flame ionization detector is installed in this gas chromatograph. This type of gas chromatograph has general versatility and its analytical sensitivity is comparatively high.

Ultrasonic horn
C-7281, Kaijo Corporation.This ultrasonic horn has been used to irradiate strong ultrasound and to degrade hexachrolobenzene adsorbed on the sediment particles. The ultrasonic frequency is fixed to 19.5kHz and the maximum electric power attains to 1200W. The control of atmosphere during experiment is possible.

High speed solvent extraction machine
ASE-100, Dionex Corporation.Quick extraction of organic compounds adsorbed on solid surfaces or dissolved in aqueous solutions can be carried out by using organic solvents under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions.

Ultrasonic degradation apparatus
4021, Kaijo Corporation.The ultrasonic transducer is attached at the bottom of the reaction chamber and can irradiate ultrasound to sample solutions. The ultrasonic frequency can be changed from 28 to 600kHz and the maximum electric power is 200W. This apparatus has been used for the ultrasonic degradation experiments of chrolophenols and chrolobenzens in aqueous solutions.

Sonophotocatalysis apparatus (original)
The sonophotocatalytic experiments are carried out by irradiating ultrasound from the bottom of the reaction chamber and ultraviolet light from the inserted mercury lamp. This apparatus has been used mainly for the degradation experiments of sewage sludge.

Spectrophotometer
PD-303S, Apel Co., Ltd..This spectrophotometer can quantify concentrations of ions or compounds in aqueous solution, which are in proportion to the light absorbance with specific wavelengths. It has been used for the measurements of the concentrations of phosphate ions (PO43-) in sludge samples after pretreatment and of methylene blue in aqueous solutions after sonophotocatalytic treatment.

Anaerobic digestion apparatus (original)
Anaerobic digestion of samples in Erlenmeyer flasks which are maintained in anaerobic condition are carried out in keeping the temperature constant by the thermostatic bath. Samples are mixed by the 6 series of magnetic stirrers. This apparatus has been used for the anaerobic digestion of the pretreated sludge samples.

COD meter
HC-607, Central Kagaku Corporation.Chemical oxygen demand is measured by chemical oxidation of samples with potassium permanganate. The COD meter has been used for the COD measurements of the pretreated sludge samples.

BOD meter
BOD Trak, Hack GmbH.Biochemical oxygen demand is measured by quantification of CO2 generation amount during biodegradation of samples by microorganisms in aerobic condition. Samples are mixed by the magnetic stirrers. The BOD meter has been used for the BOD measurements of the pretreated sludge samples.

p-7, Fritsch GmbH.The mill pot is moving in rotation and revolution simultaneously and it can enhance grinding efficiency. The maximum revolution speed attains to 700rpm. This machine is often used for mechanochemical treatment.
